How EagleView entered new end markets to become a global company.
The wide adoption of drone-based technology has catapulted the aerial imagery market, with the industry expected to reach $4.58 billion by the end of 2025. From construction to government to insurance, numerous industries are looking to aerial imagery technology to mitigate risk, increase productivity and positively impact bottom lines. However, not all aerial imagery is created equally. When used in mission-critical applications like assessing damage from a natural disaster, the quality of the technology is critical.
Since its founding in 2008, EagleView has produced more than 350 million images and covered more than 90 percent of the most populated areas in the United States. Using patented image capture techniques, 3D aerial measurement software and machine learning processes, EagleView helps customers view and analyze millions of properties throughout the world.
EagleView CEO Rishi Daga joined the company in 2008 as the Executive Vice President of Commercial Sales and has seen the business expand from a small technology startup to a multimillion-dollar enterprise. While he has been at the company for a decade, taking on the role of CEO required a new way of thinking.
To further hone his leadership and business acumen, Daga completed Vista’s Pinnacle program, a rigorous CEO development course. That experience allowed him to spend time with other Vista portfolio company CEOs and establish executive mentor relationships.
By investing in Daga’s growth as a CEO, Vista also ensured that EagleView would continue to thrive and grow to lead the market.
Daga has always known the potential of EagleView, and with the help of the Vista team, has seen the company scale successfully. By working with the Value Creation Team and implementing the operational processes and Vista Best Practices that best suited Eagleview’s unique needs, the company was able to expand its presence on a global scale and serve new end markets, including solar, oil and gas utilities. Advanced and improved recruitment practices ensured that an experienced team of innovators, developers and engineers maintain product quality and the company’s loyal customer base.
With Vista’s guidance, EagleView also completed a successful acquisition of OmniEarth, a machine learning developer with capabilities to enable higher accuracy and precision in automated aerial imagery datasets. Through the Vista partnership, EagleView has expanded into market segments, attracted new customers and increased market share.
