Strategic Projects Lead - Marketing

The Marketing Strategic Projects Lead position will partner with our Marketing Department to plan, execute, and manage high-priority marketing projects. The person will serve as the primary point of contact for these marketing projects as a member of the Strategic Projects & PMO team. Projects will be prioritized by marketing executives and align directly to Cvent’s high growth trajectory and position as the global leader in events management technology. The position will interact with global colleagues in locations including India, UK, and other North America offices. While projects are marketing-in-nature, they will require close engagement with Sales, Client Services, and other key stakeholder groups.

 

Projects will touch-on key functions of the Marketing Department, including:

1.     Customer Experience, Engagement, & Retention

2.     Lead Flow Generation & Pipeline Management

3.     Data Analytics, Modeling, & Insights

4.     Software Implementations & System Integrations

5.     Digital Marketing, including Social Media and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

6.     Market Sizing

7.     Brand Presence & Thought Leadership

 

This is a new position at Cvent. It’s an exciting opportunity to play an integral cross-functional role supporting a best-in-class Marketing department. Successful candidates will accept the inherent ambiguity associated with a new role & title, and bring a sense of entrepreneurship and action on Day 1. What You Will Be Doing:

This position has three (3) unique responsibilities. Depending on the project, you may be doing 1, or all 3, of these responsibilities simultaneously:

1.     Strategic Marketing projects with responsibilities including:

a.  Execution of key project components throughout the planning, design, execution, and deployment phases

b.  Building data models (examples: Market Sizing, Lead Flow & Funnel models)

c.  Designing data processes and dashboards that deliver greater insight generation and better decision-making capabilities

d.  Partnering with other department stakeholders to define their project responsibilities, and provide execution support as requested

2.     Business Process Re-Design & Automation with responsibilities including:

a.  Developing “as-is” process documentation for business-critical marketing functions

b.  Developing “to-be” process documentation through:

                                         i.    Stakeholder meetings & design sessions

                                         ii.    Identification of “as is” inefficiencies

                                        iii.    Translation of manual tasks to system-automation opportunities

c.  Building communication & training materials for optimized business processes

d.  Supporting marketing software projects, including:

                                          i.    Building business cases

                                         ii.    Collecting requirements

                                        iii.    Evaluating vendors

                                        iv.    Leading software and systems integration activities

3.     Managing Marketing Projects with responsibilities including:

a.  Defining the scope, objectives, and deliverables for each project

b.  Developing and managing the Project Plan

c. Conducting executive committee meetings with key project stakeholders

 

What You Need For This Position:

· 3-5 years of professional experience; strongly prefer candidates with marketing backgrounds

· BS/BA, preferably in a Business, Finance, or Technology discipline

· Experience with Salesforce, Marketo, and other marketing applications

· Strong structured problem-solving, analytical, critical, and strategic thinking skills; comfortable with ambiguity

· Demonstrated ability to identify, create or modify business processes that enhance performance of organization

· Effective communication (i.e., written, verbal and presentation) and experience delivering executive presentations (we will ask candidates to share examples)

· Data-oriented; uses data to evaluate options and make business decisions; familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools a plus (we will ask candidates to look at data and interpret it for us)

· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products; advanced knowledge of Powerpoint & Excel is a key differentiator (if you reference your expertise in your resume, we will ask you for examples)

· Experience managing projects and/or familiar with project management concepts; experience with project management software a plus
