Vista Credit Opportunities (“VCO”) was established in 2013 as the credit platform of Vista Equity Partners (“Vista”), a U.S.-based private equity firm founded in 2000 and focused on investing in enterprise software, data, and technology-enabled businesses. Vista brings a unique, systematic, and sophisticated approach to investing in a rapidly growing and critical segment of the economy, and is a top performing private equity firm worldwide[1]. Across the platform, Vista has closed over 300 transactions representing $97 billion in transaction value, and currently manages over $31 billion in cumulative capital commitments. 

VCO has a differentiated platform to capitalize on the large and growing software debt market opportunity. Vista’s unique focus on software, deep understanding of the software business model, and its role as the most active equity investor in the sector has resulted in a deep and leveragable foundation consisting of an unparalleled investment team, infrastructure, access to industry resources, and expertise. 

VCO invests in first-lien, second-lien, recurring revenue, unitranche, and mezzanine loans in both the new issuance and secondary loan markets. VCO originates investment opportunities in both the middle market and broadly syndicated loan market supporting mergers and acquisitions as well as other critical capital needs of private equity firms. Since inception, VCO has invested more than $2.2 billion across 81 companies and has partnered with over 37 private equity firms, securing its position in the loan market where there is a deficiency of dedicated, scalable software lenders.

Position Summary: 

Vista is seeking qualified candidates to join the VCO team in Chicago. Candidates will have the opportunity to join a fast-paced and successful organization and contribute across various functional areas of the firm as VCO continues to scale and increase its presence in the highly attractive enterprise software and technology market. The ideal candidate will be an integral member of the team and will provide assistance and support for all of VCO’s funds, including oversight of multiple leverage facilities with various lending partners, management of internal and external reporting functions, and coordination of investment allocations and settlements across multiple entities and funds.

Ideal candidates are highly motivated, self-starting individuals that possess a strong work ethic and intense focus on attention to detail. Candidates are comfortable contributing as a member of a team and bring a positive attitude and enthusiasm to the organization. The ideal candidate is analytical and process-oriented with strong organizational skills and experience prioritizing workflows.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Interact daily with the VCO investment team to assist in the ongoing management of asset level data;
  • Track communication and information provided to leverage providers to obtain asset approvals and other events related to the portfolio;
  • Prepare reporting for leverage providers, including reporting for fundings and ongoing monthly, quarterly and annual reports;
  • Run reports and prepare data as requested by the investment team;
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for fund investors;
  • Support the investor relations team and the VCO Co-Heads with marketing and other fundraising activities; and
  • Prepare information for the quarterly valuation process.

Skills & Requirements

Ideal candidates will possess the following requisite experience with certain exceptions:

  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; and
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience (fund management or credit investment).
