Business Analyst



This position is a member of Product Management team. The analyst helps to break down user stories and business requirements into discreet development tasks. They are responsible for researching and documenting new development or modifications to current product, with the details necessary to help the development team fully understand what is to be built. The analyst will create both Scopes of Work and Design Specifications.  There often is the need to reach out to vendors, customers, and internal resources to clarify functional business requirements.  They can be tasked to handle Scrum Master duties for multiple Scrum Teams.   Minimal to no travel is required. 



  • Break down user stories and business requirements into backlog items to be worked by the product developers
  • Researching and documenting the details necessary to help the team fully understand what is to be built
  • Works with product developers and documentation specialist on additions, changes, or removal of product capabilities
  • Leads all the Scrum team events (Daily stand-up meetings, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective)
  • Supports QA by helping outline test scenarios and defining success criteria
  • Works closely with Product Management and Sales Staff to have a clear understanding of the desired functionality for each product backlog item
Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT, Computer Science, or related discipline area
  • 2-4 years of experience working as a Business Analyst throughout SDLC

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively work independently with minimal supervision
  • Emphasis on quality work and personal accountability
  • Ability to read and understand technical API’s
  • Experience with the Scrum/Agile process is a plus
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) is a plus
  • Experience with Public Safety a plus
  • This position requires working full time onsite in the High Point, NC office
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
