Program Manager Associate Jr.

Entry Level

Omnitracs | 6214 - OT MEX - Eng. Program Management Svcs. | Mexico City, Mexico City

Program Management supports project execution, schedules tracking and timely delivery to interim milestones; leads project meetings; provides project status to management; identifies and manages barriers and risks.  May be responsible for program execution for small to medium size projects with an expectation to advance to larger projects.  The Associate Program Manager may interface with the Project Engineer, Team Leaders from across the organization, or Program Manager to develop project execution plans.

  • Evaluate projects and assist Project Team with engineering and non-engineering project management activities
  • Assist in development and maintenance of project schedules by working directly with Engineering Leads and Program Managers
  • Assist in tracking progress of project schedules and independently recognizing status needs
  • Regularly provide detailed project status reports to program management and/or customers
  • Document management: Ensure program documentation is complete and effectively communicated to appropriate persons and departments
  • Administer Program Management meetings: Schedule, take meeting minutes, publish minutes to project teams
  • Attend technical meetings, take meeting minutes, and independently recognize potential impacts to project schedules
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned
Skills & Requirements

  • EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
  • CERTIFICATION:  Certificate in Program Management and/or Scrum Master preferred
  • EXPERIENCE:  0-2 years’ experience in R&D or business environment desired
    • While experience in the product development lifecycle is ideal, it is not required. 
    • Individuals with Project Management experience in non-technology companies who would like to learn program management best practices in a high tech firm are encouraged to apply

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 

  • Knowledge of and experience in scheduling meetings and taking meeting minutes
  • Software (SW) related experience desired – Any work in a SW environment, SW development, or SW testing
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Sharepoint, Visio, Excel super user experience desired
  • Strong in the collaboration with people, assessing risks, and adhering to processes
  • Proven problem-solving skills in a variety of projects
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal and written Business oriented communication skills, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and meet timelines objectives
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment and drive multiple projects
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently between tasks and projects, multitask
