Technical Project Manager


Granicus | IT and Internal Support | St. Paul, MN

Oversees, develops and analyzes policies and practices related to project management. This hands-on position requires accessing in house strategists, implementers, designers, developers, and trainers who share Granicus’ standards of excellence across client deliverables and relationships. experience delivering cloud services implementations with internal cross functional teams. The technical project manager is responsible for clearly defining and quantifying each step, as well as establishing concrete deadlines for each project milestone and deliverable. Qualified candidate has proven a track record of successfully managing projects for government clients, as well as being able to create technical and business documentation, multi-task, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have an attention to detail.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Assembling and Leading a Project Team
  • Continuously monitor, record, and report on the progress of the project/ program and communicate the status on a regular cadence
  • Proactively identify potential issues and propose mitigation plans or alternative solutions
  • Review and develop technical documents, including project schedules, implementation and back out plan, device location drawings, system and device test plans and sign offs, and as-built drawings
  • Actively manage projects risks, mitigations, and outcomes
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Lead and facilitate meetings and work sessions
  • Provide direction, guidance, and resources to internal groups and projects managers
  • Budget Management and Time Management – estimate and forecast
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Security Requirement:  

Responsible for Granicus information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Granicus information assets in accordance with the company's information security program.


Skills & Requirements


  • Proven working experience in project management
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with project management applications such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Smartsheet, Confluence and JIRA
  • Excellent organizational, technical leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to drive initiatives cross functionally
  • Must be a team player
