Senior Payroll Analyst

The Sr. Payroll Analyst will manage the Payroll and Time Administration function for Jamf’s U.S. and Global employee population.  This individual will also support global expansion initiatives and provide insight for 3rd party vendor(s) to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance in multiple countries.  As a member of the Human Resources team, this individual will be responsible for overall payroll system functionality, administration and complex payroll processing, and serve as first point of contact for all payroll and time related questions and issues.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly processing of multi-state domestic and monthly processing of global payroll (9+ countries), including garnishments, benefits and taxes to employees consistent with Federal and State wage and hour laws, and country specific regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for Time administration to include positive (Regular, FLSA Overtime, etc.) and negative (PTO, VTO, etc.) time tracking
  • Calculate wages, tax withholdings, company deductions, and garnishments accurately and timely
  • Process new hires, transitions and terminations through the payroll system in an accurate and timely manner
  • Lead new state set-up domestically, including applying for and handling inquiries from state and local tax jurisdictions, and within our Workday payroll system
  • Manage payroll and time vendor relationships by effectively communicating, resourcing, and partnering with them to identify and solve problems with solution options 
  • Utilize vendor service level commitments based on our agreements and contract terms
  • Assist with and develop the implementation of domestic multi-state payroll withholding needs
  • Prepare reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses, PTO, disability, workers compensation leave, taxes, withholdings, and other various report requests
  • Generate and respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks
  • Process year-end employee tax statements as required per country (i.e. W2s, P60s, etc).
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
  • Communicate proactively with department leaders, administrators, and employees as necessary to review and ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports as needed or requested for gross payroll, hours worked, PTO accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.
  • Answer inquiries regarding employment verifications (i.e. mortgage, loan and employment)
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and confidentiality of payroll data
  • Research and provide guidance to the organization on payroll and time admin best practices, trends, and legislation, domestically and internationally
  • Audit, analyze, identify, and edit inconsistencies between HR and Payroll systems
  • Prepare monthly payroll and ad hoc reports
  • Recognize opportunities and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and ensure quality
  • Establish and maintain written procedures documenting compliance and processes
  • Effectively partner with Finance and other internal departments to provide cross departmental process support and information sharing
  • Attend staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time
  • Maintain current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs)
  • Perform other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures

Skills & Requirements

  • 5 – 10+ years experience in administering payroll in-house (Required); multi-national experience is preferred
  • 5 – 10+ years experience with application of multi-state, federal, and global payroll compliance regulations (Preferred)
  • 5 – 10+ years experience with Workday, ADP, or other payroll processing / HRIS systems (Required)
  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (Preferred, a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered)
