Director, Accounting

As Director of Accounting, you will be the right hand person to the Corporate Controller.  You will be expected to monitor, supervise and evaluate all non-revenue accounting activities. You will also have to develop and implement accounting systems to collect, analyze, verify and report a myriad of financial information. You will be expected to work with other members of the accounting team, finance team, and various other constituents around the company.

Accounting Director Job Responsibilities

  • Manage a team responsible for various non-revenue general ledger and accounts payable processes
  • Manages, reviews, and evaluates all monthly and quarterly close activities
  • Evaluate variances of actual against forecasted and budgeted values
  • Coordinates interim and annual audits with financial statement auditor
  • Assists in debt compliance reporting
  • Manages equity accounting practices and procedures
  • Contributes to automation and quality control changes in NetSuite and other applications
  • Develops memos and policy documents to ensure compliance with US GAAP
  • Provide project management to team members to develop best practices efficiencies
  • Meet financial objectives through collaboration and delegation
  • Produce financial statements by monitoring and evaluating accounting data
  • Streamline systems and processes and initiate corrective actions when necessary
  • Provide high-level projections and summaries of financial information to senior management, Board, and lenders
  • Assess and implement new accounting guidance (ASC 842)
Skills & Requirements

Accounting Director Requirements

  • Active CPA preferred 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred 
  • Experience is NetSuite is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in a regional or national accounting firm preferred
  • Previous experience in an acquisitive software or software-as-a-service technology company preferred
  • Purchase accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with private equity preferred
  • Proven knowledge of accounting regulations, practices and standards
  • 2-5 years of prior experience at least at an Accounting Manager level preferred 
  • Attention to detail, organization and accuracy
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work with large amounts of complex data
