Director, Accounting

PowerSchool Group LLC is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on individual with strong accounting and administrative skills to join our team. The Director, Accounting will be responsible for managing the annual audit, acquisition accounting, payables, general ledger, and payroll.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Preparation of the annual audited financial statements
  •  Prepare purchase accounting analysis and ledger entries for acquired companies
  • Integrate accounting functions for acquired companies
  • Manage tight month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reconciliations including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and corporate/overhead cost allocations
  • Make daily or periodic entries in appropriate journal, registers, ledgers or other records assuring accuracy and balancing
  • Generate various reports for management, audit and lender reporting
  • Manage the finance related procure-to-pay processes for payroll, accounts payable and employee expenses
  • Oversight of tax preparation and filings, and adherence to sales tax compliance and payments
  • Ensure policies and processes are well documented, applied consistently and broadly understood
  • Assist non-financial personnel with training on internal control compliance, accounting procedures and financial statement review
  • Assist the daily activities and the career development of team members, including hiring, coaching, reviewing work, establishing goals and performance management of team members as required
Skills & Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA required
  • 7+ years of corporate finance/accounting management experience
  • Experience in accounting and ability to apply strong US GAAP knowledge to business scenarios
  • Strong systems background and highly skilled in use of Excel
  • Knowledge of SFDC and NetSuite is a plus
  • Good business acumen, analytical skills, detailed-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop teams in multiple locations and work cross functionally
