Director, Product Marketing (Higher Ed)

Job Purpose

 

The Higher Ed Product Marketing Director will be responsible for all marketing aspects of PowerSchool’s higher education business.  In this role, you will be responsible launching products into market.  You will be an expert on the competition, develop a deep understanding of buyers and their behaviors, and develop differentiated value-based messaging and positioning that resonates with buyers.  You will develop and execute innovative integrated marketing programs that drive awareness and demand for the HE product portfolio and track performance metrics to understand what is working and not working in market and make adjustments accordingly.  You will collaborate with comms, events, product and sales and ensure alignment throughout campaign lifecycles to maximize success.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Market intelligence—be the expert on our buyers, who are they, how they buy and their key buying criteria
  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned
  • Collaborate with product management to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas.
  • Develop and execute product launch plans taking into consideration the broader integrated marketing campaigns
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to drive acquisition and retention revenue
  • Ensure strong value-based messaging and brand consistency core values across all communications
  • Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes
  • Work closely with the Sales team to keep them informed and ensure they are aligned and enabled on campaign efforts
  • Maintain strong ties with Sales to receive real time feedback on campaign results that could enhance campaign elements to improve quality and/or quantity of leads
  • Other duties as assigned 
Skills & Requirements

 

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field required
  • A minimum of 5 years related work experience in building integrated marketing programs or campaigns
  • A minimum of 3 years of product marketing experience
  • A successful track record of creating and implementing marketing campaigns that deliver measurable results
  • Strong experience with Marketo (or similar marketing automation platform) and Salesforce is required
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to achieve objectives
  • Extremely organized with excellent time management, decision-making, presentation, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment
