Technical Trainer

The Technical Trainer is responsible for going to visit our clients and leading training around our products.  When you’re not on the road, you’ll be in the office learning more about our technology, answering follow-up emails from customers, creating training curriculum, and scheduling future trips.  Our ideal candidate will have strong presentation skills, a background in training, building relationships with customers, and have strong technology skills.  This is a great position for you if you consider yourself a lifelong learner, love to teach, and thrive in a team environment.  We love to see candidates who have experience with GIS and imaging systems, teaching, and technical writing, but we’ve had many with different backgrounds who have thrived in this role.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide on-location instructor led training (planned, custom tailored, and ad-hoc)
  • Coordination, scheduling, classroom preparation, travel and follow-up
  • Provide online instructor led training (planned, custom tailored, and ad-hoc webinars)
  • Coordination, scheduling, and follow-up
  • Provide consultative assistance and provide best practice suggestions for account management (account set-up, GIS upload methods and configurations)
  • Support for Customer Needs
  • Provide customer technical and consultative support for installation, implementation, deployment integration and troubleshooting
  • Product Testing
  • Review new releases, testing for functionality and user experience
  • Participate in Special Projects
  • Customer and Internal Documentation, Training Videos, Training Curriculum
  • New Products - understand products and share information with training team
  • Involvement in Product Development (smaller degree compared to Senior Technical Trainers)
  • Translate and communicate customer technical and workflow requirements to PMBA’s and Engineering
  • Channel customer feedback on existing products for future product development 
Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to translate complex concepts and ‘think on your feet’
  • Strong technical aptitude (computer hardware and software, Cloud solutions)
  • GIS knowledge (troubleshooting and ESRI)
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills
  • Valid Driver’s license, a clean driving record and ability to rent vehicles in your name
