UX Specialist

 The UX specialist will be collaborating with a cross-functional team to understand and interpret customer needs while balancing technology constraints, project scope and business goals. You will be conducting research, using that research to solve existing challenges and leading ideation workshops to define the IA and website high-level features.


  • Visualizes, articulates and makes disciplined decisions based on available information and research
  • Understands users needs based on evidence. Able to translate research into UI design approaches to meet needs
  • Able to communicate effectively across organizational, technical and political boundaries. Makes technical information and language simple and accessible for non-technical audiences
  • Capable of ensuring compliance against constraints by adapting existing products where needed
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to communicate usability theory and principles when presenting solutions
Skills & Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the operations team (UX, UI, project managers, development) to understand problems and achieve solution agreement
  • Develop UX deliverables, including but not limited to analytics reports, user testing, survey reports and low fidelity wireframes that support established interaction patterns, information architecture and user workflows
  • Lead and present UX workshops, interface with clients and gain consensus and approval on wireframe direction


  • Knowledge of Industry trends and best practices for web interfaces
  • Strong foundation in usability and accessibility of UI design
  • Strong knowledge of interaction design and methodology
  • Solid understanding of user research and user centered design
  • Aware of client/server interactions
  • An understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Familiar with Microsoft Power Point
  • Familiar with Adobe XD or any other experience design tool
  • Ability to travel occasionally 

    Nice to haves

  • Degree in a related field such as Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design or Industrial Design
  • Experience working with a CMS
  • Aware of local government structure in the U.S.
