Position Description:

We are looking for a Product Lead to join the Cvent Supplier Network (CSN) Product Management team. CSN is the global platform that enables the group RFP process between meeting planners and hotels and other venues. CSN supports processes such as: creating the RFP meeting requirements, searching for venues, sending the RFP, managing hotel responses, in addition to many supporting services.

The Product Lead will actively manage and lead product management teams to execute projects, demonstrating sound judgment, critical thinking skills, leadership, and a sense of urgency. This individual must foster a team environment of shared ownership in project execution, and be able to drive decisions effectively within the technology and business teams. The Product Lead is a member of Cvent's Product Management team within the Technology department, which designs, develops and operates large-scale, enterprise level applications.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to gather, analyze and document information needs and functional requirements
  • Prepare functional designs of product customizations and features
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, manage project item prioritization, make trade-offs and balance business needs versus technical constraints
  • Project planning and execution – balancing business and technology stakeholder expectations regarding the project scope/components, priorities, schedule, and manage risk to these components
  • Assist in conducting functional requirements gathering; working closely with Product Manager and Systems Analysts
  • Utilize available resources to monitor and summarize system usage data
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the specified product line or business function
  • Identify technical challenges/anomalies and coordinate appropriate resources for resolution
  • Serve as escalation point for all project issues
  • Facilitate business and technical design sessions
  • Work closely with end users, business stakeholders and others to understand and prioritize goals and information needs related to the project
  • Manage the integration of third party vendor tasks and track vendor deliverables
  • Report on status of development, operations and system performance to management
  • Conduct post mortem meetings and document lessons learned to help identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Develop intuitive visualizations for monitoring KPIs and executive summaries for key stakeholders
  • Develop and run ad hoc reports and analysis to answer business questions when needed
  • Combine web analytics with customer insights derived from other internal data sources for deeper analysis of product success and value


What You Need for this Position

  • 2-5 years working with SaaS products
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a related discipline.  
  • Outstanding organizational, prioritization and multitasking skills
  • Experience facilitating meetings with high level cross functional teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to drive clarity and precision in product requirements
  • Strong understanding of various software development processes, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management
  • Self-starter with ability to conceive of and accept responsibility for projects to see them through to completion, must be able to work as individual contributor and to contribute as part of a larger team
  • Experience with meeting planner software, hospitality group booking tools, sales & catering systems, or web analytics software is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of the SQL query language and querying relational databases
  • Experience building/work with analytics dashboards with BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, Domo, Google Data Studio, etc.) is a plus
  • Knowledge of web advertising concepts and metrics is a plus, but not required
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and/or NoSQL databases is a plus, but not required
