Team Lead, Search Engine Optimization

Cvent, Inc. is seeking a Manager/Team Lead, Search Engine Optimization to join our growing digital marketing team. This candidate will report directly to the Director, Digital Marketing and be responsible for leading the on-page, technical, and off-page Search Engine Optimization efforts for Cvent’s web properties. The person in this role will be responsible for owning the roadmap and strategy for search engine optimization efforts and meeting specific KPIs across all product lines at Cvent, with the end goal being continued growth of inbound organic traffic, Sales Qualified Leads, and attributable revenue. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in search engine marketing and a background in B2B lead generation. Juggling many projects across multiple teams is an everyday requirement in this role, and the ideal candidate will need to be extremely organized and comfortable in a high-paced environment.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop the roadmap for search engine optimization efforts for Cvent and establish the end-to-end process for activating these efforts
  • Oversee Cvent’s technical search engine optimization efforts, including developing website audits and page-level Search Engine Optimization recommendations, establishing and documenting technical and on-page Search Engine Optimization best practices, and overseeing the Search Engine Optimization requirements of our CMS migration projects
  • Identify content theme opportunities based on keyword research and competitive analysis, and partner closely with the content team to ensure Search Engine Optimization intent is met across web copy
  • Work cross-functionally with web development and design, web engineering, content, analytics, product, and product marketing teams to push priority Search Engine Optimization projects through to completion
  • Establish a framework to measure the effectiveness of Search Engine Optimization strategy in increasing traffic and rankings on the website.
  • Forge strong relationships with marketing leads and senior management key stakeholders


What You Need for this Position

  • BS/BA Degree Required
  • 5 -7 years of proven experience in managing search engine optimization efforts in-house or at an agency
  • Solid working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Solid working knowledge of Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics (Omniture SiteCatalyst)
  • Must have experience working with multiple clients or stakeholders simultaneously
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication
  • Must have strong organizational and project management skills
  • Must have experience with Moz, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, Search Console, and similar Search Engine Optimization tools
  • International/multi-national Search Engine Optimization management experience a plus              
  • Working knowledge of Drupal and WordPress a plus
  • Prior team lead or mentorship experience a plus
