Production Support Engineer 
Current opportunity is in Richmond, VA.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Responsible for monitoring the Production Status, and ensure the ETL process works as expected;handle customer communication around production issues
- Manage pipeline of tickets and ensure on time delivery; Effectively manage multiple, competingpriorities
- Partner with delivery and BA teams in identifying opportunities and building solutions to streamline implementation and support phase
- Work on projects focused on continuous improvement of the application support model andassociated processes using appropriate technologies
- Provide Tier 2 support in triaging production issues related to loads, proprietary tools and UI
- Work on projects focused on continuous improvement of the application support model andassociated processes using appropriate technologies
- Responsible for monitoring the Production Status, and ensure the ETL process works as expected;handle customer communication around production issues
- Respond to system generated alerts/escalations relating to any failures on
application platform
- Perform root cause analysis and identify and implement corrective and preventive measures
- Document standards, processes and procedures relating to best practices, issues and resolutions
- Effectively manage multiple, competing priorities
- Be available on call (on rotation) in a support role

Must Haves:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or technology related field
- 3+ year of professional experience in a development or Tier 3 production support role
- 3+ year of professional experience using Unix/PERL scripts 
- Fluent in SQL (MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL multiple preferred)
- Knowledge of any of the BI reporting tools
- Experience with at least one of the ETL tools, preferably Informatica
- Experience in programming in modern, object oriented language or big data technologies
-Experience in data warehousing that includes job scheduling, data profiling, data cleansing, data
quality validation and testing
- Ability to learn new technology/process in short period of time
- Ability to be able to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced work environment
- Exhibit a high level of organizational skills and sense of personal accountability
- Ability to be on call (on a rotational basis)

 

Even Better:
- Masters degree
- Knowledge of PERL or Python
- Professional experience providing application support in a data warehouse environment
- Experience working in a fast paced, start-up environment
- Experience in Perl scripting and .Net
- Experience working in Onsite/Offshore or 24/5 support model
