Senior Sales Engineer

What You'll Do:

  • Support the Global Accounts Sales team from the beginning of a sales cycle to understand a client’s overall technology direction and apply expertise to develop the most optimal solution for the client’s organization
  • Troubleshoot, and present custom solutions to all potential customer problems
  • Provide customer feedback in a timely manner to the Product department to ensure future product development is aligned with clients’ needs
  • Manage projects, acting as technical advisor to Global Accounts
  • Support the development of cross-functional business processes; identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility, and recommend new approaches via technology enablement
  • Provide thought leadership in emerging industry relevant technologies 
  • Supports new business and other pre-sale cycles to engineer viable solutions that win business
  • Conducts discovery, determines scope, and presents capabilities of the relevant solutions
  • Establishes influential relationships with diverse customers at the highest levels by using superior consulting and communication skills
  • Delivers compelling, highly refined presentations, both virtual and live, including corporate/executive briefings
  • Defines and presents effective and compelling business cases that drive successful closure of sales opportunities
Skills & Requirements

What You'll Need:

  • 5-7 years of proven experience and success in senior solutions architect / senior sales engineer role
  • Possess an understanding of API / XML
  • Skilled in common MS applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to understand and communicate both strategic and technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Superior consulting, listening and communication skills, evidenced by the ability to establish influential relationships with diverse customers both internal and external
  • Ability to lead effective conversations with all job roles within an organization, including Directors, Executives and C-level personnel
  • Ability to generate unique but workable and useful solutions to difficult problems and thinks in terms of desired outcomes, not just reactive, quick solutions
  • Superior presentation and facilitation skills for meetings and group activities, both virtual and live, demonstrating the ability to guide groups, and listen and question effectively
  • Excellent written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to write with purpose, clarity, and accuracy
  • High attention to detail demonstrated in quality of materials produced
  • Effective project management and organizational skills
  • Superior skills in critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making, which balance analysis with responsiveness for independent, solution-focused action
  • Superior self-directed work habits, exhibiting strong initiative, drive, creativity, maturity, self-assurance and professionalism
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to act as a strategic partner to the client and the Global Accounts sales team
  • Experience with large global accounts; preferably in large technology sector
  • Previous experience working with virtual teams
  • Up to 50% travel as required
