Manager, Solution Marketing (Product Marketing)

The Manager, Solution Marketing will play a critical role within the Marketing group and will focus on defining and executing all aspects of go to market strategy, will work closely with marketing, product managers, sales, and business partners to define product positioning and messaging to ensure market success and support selling efforts through the delivery of clear value propositions to our internal teams. This person will manage a small team of solution marketing associates and specialists to formulate execution plans that support PowerSchool’s solutions and go-to-market strategies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates PowerSchool’s solutions in the market
  • Communicate the value proposition of our products to the sales team and develop sales tools and collateral that support the selling process
  • Design thought-leadership based collateral and conduct primary and secondary research to establish credibility for the content created
  • Write rich content for assets including, case studies, white papers, brochures, blog posts, eBooks and other content vehicles
  • Implement a persona-based writing style directed toward the pain points of key stakeholders and influences
  • Support launch of new products; releases and manages the cross-functional implementation of the plan
  • Work with other marketing team members to develop messaging for local, regional and global marketing campaigns.
  • Engage with customers, partners and industry groups to gain understanding of the perspectives of the education community
  • Work with marketing team members to develop product messaging that compels customers to act
  • Work with key PowerSchool stakeholders (Product Management/Marketing/Sales) to understand impacts and ROI of various product features
  • Assist with special marketing projects or assignments as needed
Skills & Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, English, or Marketing required
  • 5+ years’ product or solution marketing, or product management experience working in the software market, interfacing with users and buyers
  • 5+ years’ experience successfully developing rich content across multiple written and web-based assets
  • Experience with ‘persona-based’ content creation and solution selling methodologies
  • Background in education technology is highly desirable
  • Experience with Marketo and Agile Marketing tactics a plus
  • Solid understanding of product management and enterprise software delivery
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, CRM, and database management tools
  • Demonstrated success in developing product launch and marketing campaigns
  • Excellent organizational and project leadership skills
  • Superior communication skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Ability to translate product capabilities into a cohesive, compelling story that effectively conveys the value and benefits of our offerings to the market
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task workflows
