Public Safety Software Specialist

Are you a former dispatcher, police officer, records clerk, investigator or just someone looking to expand your career? Are you ready to work independently while traveling across the country? We are seeking public safety officers to work with the Police, Fire, and Communications Centers across the US throughout the project implementation lifecycle. CentralSquare is an industry leader in public safety and public administration software, serving over 7,650 organizations from the largest metropolitan city to counties and towns of every size across North America.

The Public Safety Specialist acts as the subject matter expert to other public safety officials of CentralSquare Public Safety software solutions. This responsibility broadly includes providing discovery, initial demonstration, on-site or remote configuration, end-user training to agency personnel, validation, testing, and Go-Live phases of CentralSquare software project implementation. This role helps drive customer satisfaction and is a key contributor to our success. The person in this role possesses an excellent level of product knowledge while serving as a liaison between the organization and customers. They will work closely with project management staff to maintain implementation timelines.  
Skills & Requirements


  • Develops and maintains knowledge to provide expertise about CentralSquare software solutions to public safety agencies
  • Analyzes customer processes and recommend best practices for customer to follow with CentralSquare software
  • Maintains consistent communication and follow-up between the project team and the clients
  • Keep records of project documentation, project tickets, client supplied information and communicating project processes, risks, and solutions to Project Manager
  • Ability to articulate technical and functional concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Assists agencies in configuring their system to meet their unique needs
  • Assist agency personnel with system review and testing prior to go-live and with equipment installation and setup
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with customers while delivering outstanding customer service via phone, email, remote meetings and in-person
  • Provides onsite training to agency personnel using both direct end-user training and train-the-trainer formats
  • Conducts internal training sessions and presents at user conferences, if needed
  • Other responsibilities as required

Education:  Bachelor or Associate degree or equivalent experience

Specialized knowledge:  Public safety and justice experience highly preferred

Computer Skills:  Microsoft Product Suite, SQL and/or SSRS Reporting

Travel:  up to 75% (Typically Sun/Mon - Thur)
