JOB FAMILY SUMMARY:

The Product Management Team focuses on improving user engagement and helping businesses and consumers find value in MINDBODY’s family of apps and products. Product Management is a cross-functional team performing and analyzing primary research so that we can position our new MINDBODY releases successfully to market.

 JOB SUMMARY:

As a MINDBODY Product Manager, you will drive and influence a cross-functional team of engineers, UX designers, and product marketers to deliver our customers the right solutions they need to manage and grow their health, beauty or wellness businesses with power and confidence. The Product Manager coordinates and inspires the creation of innovative products and services in an agile development/scrum environment, and ensures MINDBODY delivers the features and functionality that will delight our customers.

As a Product Manager, you will share in the customer journey, learn the challenges they face, prioritize their needs, and provide them the tools to better understand their businesses and make better decisions to maintain and grow their businesses. You will be responsible for overseeing a key strategic area or multiple key areas of MINDBODY’s software product.  You will be responsible for bringing strategic products to market while meeting key business objectives. You will author business plans based on customer/market research and data analysis, and pitch these product ideas to senior management ultimately ending in prioritization and development.

Skills & Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • MS, MBA or another graduate-level degree preferred. Minimum ofBachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience
  • Certifications such as ScrumMaster or PMP
  • 5+ years working as a Product Manager in a top-tier technology company / Successful SaaS organization
  • Subject matter expertise in many different technology markets
  • Experience handling enterprise-level clients/customers
  • Track record driving and delivering large, complicated projects on time and within scope
  • Entrepreneurial spirit / ability to roll up your sleeves and try different things with minimal direction
  • Loves and understands technology. Stays up to day on competition and disruptors in the market
  • Is organized, and can plan, forecast and manage a product backlog
  • Previous experience in Agile/Scrum environment
  • Excellent analytical and technical abilities
  • Intimate knowledge of key Product Management Principles, Agile Scrum and UX Centered Design principles
  • Possesses a unique blend of business and technical savvy. Technically credible to lead teams of world-class software developers
  • To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through leadership and influence multiple individuals, groups, and cross-functional relationships
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent Ability to communicate and work with stakeholders across the organization

 PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product manager for one or more product development teams
  • Identifies unmet market needs that leverage MINDBODY technologies, strengths and market leadership
  • Produces and manages usability studies, product metrics, competitive, customer and market analysis into product requirements in order to identify new opportunities
  • Cultivates customer empathy while building a deep understanding of the customer journey
  • Strives to be a subject matter expert in their strategic focus area(s) by identifying the challenges our customers’ face and defines new opportunities to improve our customers’ experience
  • Facilitates requirements gathering from usability studies, product metrics, market analysis, customer and stakeholder interviews
  • Builds business cases that satisfy significant market needs and revenue opportunities, is able and willing pitch business cases to senior management and elaborate on the “what” and “why”
  • Has displayed an ability to control scope of large projects
  • Collaborates with the design/development teams to define and document features, experiences, and use cases
  • Leverages data analysis to make tactical and strategic product decisions
  • Work with cross-functional team of UX Researchers, UX Designers, and Engineers to support the product vision and achieve strategic business objectives
  • Writes user stories and builds backlogs based on customer needs, market evidence, strategic initiative, and internal stakeholders needs
  • Drives delivery using Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework, including support of backlog prioritization and grooming, sprint retrospectives, daily scrums, and adjust processes as requested by the team
  • Ensures requirements are met and signs off on user stories once the definition of done and acceptance criteria have been met.Issues change requests when applicable
  • Manages the product roadmap for the strategic area, setting expectations with all relevant stakeholders
  • Works well with product marketing, design, engineering, project management, etc. to successfully deliver products to market
  • Collaborates with Product Marketing to develop a strong go-to-marketing plan
  • Removes business related roadblocks in order to ensure success product delivery on time and within scope
  • Gathers customer feedback in order to determine future iterations. Compares planned success metrics to actuals and ladders up product
