Instructional Designer

The Instructional Designer will design and develop instructional material for customer training courses that support company technical products. They will demonstrate and utilize effective course development and evaluation skills. This individual will independently develop entry and advanced level courses for an external audiences by utilizing multimedia technology and authoring tools.


Skills & Requirements


  • Develop materials for courses based on information provided by subject matter experts to create the best coursework possible.
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content 
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product
  • Analyze and apply trends, as well as best practices in learning technologies and instructional design 
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, etc.)
  • Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course
  • Deliver virtual and/or in-person training as needed
  • Write effective instructional text, record audio, and edit/design video files
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous working experience in instructional design for at least 2-3 years
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar relevant field
  • Experience with Instructional Design tools, such as Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate Storyline
  • Experience working in a Learning Management System
  • Knowledge of presentation technologies, including but not limited to WebEx, Jigsaw Interactive, and GoToMeeting
  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Project Management skills
