Team Overview

Our Finance team is a passionate, high-performing group committed to supporting PowerSchool operations through accurate and timely financial management. The team provides critical business guidance on a broad range of accounting, reporting, and analytical projects, ensuring the integrity of financial data.

Responsibilities

PowerSchool’s Vice President of Go-To-Market Finance will oversee the effective planning, forecasting, reporting, and management of PowerSchool’s nearly $800 million revenue base. Partnering with the Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams, the VP GTM Finance will align profitable growth with our business strategy while providing valuable guidance, insights, and financial acumen to all aspects of PowerSchool’s revenue base, growth opportunities, and go-to-market functions. The individual must have a collaborative, consultative, influential, and analytical mindset to achieve success.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Business thought partner – Align business strategy with financial value creation by collaborating with multiple business functions and leadership teams, including Executive, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product
  • Strategic leadership – Key member of Deal Desk, Pricing, and Solution Leadership teams, providing the financial lens to complex customer, profitability, and sales opportunities to ensure sound and effective decisioning
  • Financial insights – Ensure accurate, timely, analytics-driven, and effective financial and operational insights and KPIs to enable effective and efficient decisioning
  • Innovation – Challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement in processes, workflows, automation, and reporting
  • Forecast revenue – Analyze market trends, S&M pipeline, and customer data to continuously improve the accuracy and timeliness of revenue forecasting and identify risks and opportunities
  • Own ARR integrity – Track, report, and forecast ARR while ensuring bookings convert to revenue efficiently and in compliance with policies and best practices
  • Planning – Advise leadership teams in functional budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation
  • Nimble project management – Provide ad-hoc analyses and research as necessary to serve critical and changing business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; MBA/CPA/CFA a plus
  • 15+ years’ experience in FP&A/corporate finance with heavy exposure to Sales and Marketing operations
  • 5+ years in SaaS with deep knowledge of recurring subscription revenue models
  • Consultative, self-starter mindset with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with and influence cross-functional leaders
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to dive down into the details to analyze and-problem solve complex financial and business issues with high attention to detail
  • Player-coach with strong financial analytics, presentation creation and delivery, and data analytics abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate to simplify processes while improving the quality and integrity of deliverables
