Responsibilities
Description
A Cloud Operations engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services. They ensure the availability, performance, and security of cloud-based applications and resources while monitoring and responding to incidents and issues. This role requires expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and best practices.
Your day-to-day job will consist of:
- Responsible for execution of day-to-day tasks related to monitoring and managing complex firewall and web application firewall, WAF, to ensure service availability and data security
- Create, troubleshoot and execute scripts to perform firewall and WAF related tasks such as configuration changes, audit reports, alert monitors, and automation that can trigger off a variety of industry standard monitoring tools to resolve common issues in the environment or maintain operating levels
- Execute ticket triage, investigation and resolution of reported incidents
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations to resolve incidents in support of production systems
- Frequently review and recommend firewall and WAF updates and patches from vendors
- Performs root cause analysis on trended incidents and major outages up through the application stack
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience supporting Imperva and AWS WAF and Shield
- 3-5 years’ experience supporting Azure Network Security Group and related subjects
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent degree
- Demonstrable knowledge of Python, PowerShell, Ruby, or other scripting languages
- Minimum 3 years practical experience of AWS and/or Azure equivalent technologies such as EC2, NSGs, VPC/VNETs, Load Balancers, DNS, and certificate management
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrable knowledge of cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM), Azure AD (AAD)
- Ability to handle a heavy workload with multiple projects and frequent interruptions
- Ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment
