Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager II to drive software engineering teams to successfully deliver large, complex, and cross-functional agile programs within our Labs organization. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and motivating agile teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering agile programs that provide exceptional business value to users and the overall organization. This role will also focus on planning, tracking, and managing dependencies across backend platform and microservices teams, front-end teams, and legacy application teams to deliver high-quality, strategic, roadmap deliverables. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent program management skills, and a proven ability to coordinate multiple teams in an agile environment.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Labs Operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large, strategic, cross-functional, agile programs, ensuring seamless coordination between backend, frontend, and legacy system teams
- Work with Labs/Engineering, Product Management and other stakeholders in Hyderabad and US to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
- Champion agile best practices, coaching and training teams on scrum methodologies and scalable program management techniques.
- Engage in ongoing process improvement initiatives to continually improve Agile Program Management best practices as part of our Agile Center of Excellence
- Develop and maintain program roadmaps, identifying key milestones, risks, and dependencies using tools like Jira, Jira Roadmaps, Smartsheet, Aha!, or similar software.
- Manage project risks, dependencies and issues, escalate and track impediments, and provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks and communicate critical issues and potential solutions in a timely manner
- Track and communicate program progress, status, and risks to senior leadership, proactively raising roadblocks and ensuring alignment across teams.
- Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to drive data-driven decision-making and improve program execution efficiency. Foster team predictability using metrics as an input into future planning
- Influence and communicate cross functionally with all levels of management leveraging exceptional verbal and written communications skills
- Review and drive improvements in iCIMS’ existing SDLC and Software Development processes
- Work with 3rd party vendors as necessary to ensure deliverables relevant to projects
- Administer, configure and maintain our Jira environment, and associated integrations to Salesforce, Aha, and other tools, to ensure that the tooling supports our program management methodologies
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing agile software development programs in a Software-as-a-Service (Saas) environment.
- Advanced knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
- Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects. Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent preferred
- Proficiency with agile program management tools, such as Jira, Aha!, Jira Roadmaps, Smartsheet, or similar.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, drive alignment, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate risks and drive resolutions proactively.
- Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
- Experience working in SaaS or cloud-based software environments.
- Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and technical team members at all levels including the executive level
Education/Certifications/Licenses Required
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent technical degree, or relevant experience
