Lead DevOps Engineer

This is a lead IT engineering role that will work with the other functional software development, systems engineering, and operations teams in the company to evolve and manage a global scope container platform as a service (PaaS) in a hybrid cloud ecosystem.  The candidate will also lead the team that manages the DevOps toolchain and the integrations of this toolchain with the container platform and other platform services to enable continuous integration and continuous deployment capabilities.  This individual is expected to be able to manage and execute systems development lifecycle activities, build operational procedures, and clearly communicate to all technical and business stakeholders.



  • Manage system standards
  • Manage system operations concept
  • Manage system lifecycles
  • Execute system lifecycle activities (design, develop, test, sustain, evolve)
  • Develop/Document/Execute engineering test plans
  • Develop/Document/Execute system engineering change plans
  • Develop/Document infrastructure and services BoMs
  • Develop/Document/Execute project plans and scheduling
  • Develop/Document system communications plans
  • Develop/Document system knowledge base
  • Manage system governance and compliance processes and policies
  • Third level triage/ problem management
  • Ensure system compliance with relevant information security polcies
  • Present information clearly and concisely to key stakeholders and leadership as required
Skills & Requirements


  • EDUCATION:  Bachelor of Science
  • CERTIFICATIONS:  (Optional) Professional level certifications
  • EXPERIENCE:  7 years+ of equivalent experience within the skillsets outlined in the following skills and knowledge section


Knowledge and skillsets required:

Advanced knowledge related to design, development, integration, and implementation for the following components and functions:

  • LINUX platform administration
  • Container platforms based on Kubernetes and Docker, i.e. openshift, EKS, etc…
  • Service Discovery/DNS
  • Load Balancing
  • Open Virtual Switch networking
  • Container persistent volume modes such as GFS, NFS, iSCSI, AWS EBS, etc…
  • GIT Version Control Systems
  • CI toolsuites such as Jenkins, GIT, TeamCity, etc…
  • DevOps best practices and patterns
