Human Resources Analyst

The HR Analyst collects and analyzes data from various, disparate sources to identify issues and develops recommended solutions. They are responsible for conducting in-depth research, gathering and organizing data from a variety of sources for performing analysis based on team or customer request.  The HR Analyst will be responsible for a ride range of typical Human Resources activities such as terminations, investigations, leave management, etc.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops long-term solutions and short-term tactics to support data access requirements and needs
  • Investigates and explains recent trends or abnormalities in the data and recommends action steps to address/ resolve
  • Develops reports based on end-user expectations. Analyzes processes, determines parameters of reporting results and writes reports to provide accurate output. Advises customer on best selection of data for presentation to display findings and support recommendations
  • Analyzes data and documents trends performs further research and/or recommends improvements of strategy, operations, policy, practices, or programs based on research and findings
  • Identifies discrepancies in reports, investigates source, provides or selects resources to provide system changes; amasses data, interprets and develops information on patterns and suggests priorities in reporting or developing further data, to support management process
  • Identifies opportunities for improved software applications to ensure efficient, user friendly reports
  • Maintains thorough knowledge in the HR or relevant Business System application's design and use; continues to increase knowledge as the product functionality is changed or enhanced, through attendance of appropriate application and technical training sessions
  • Write advanced reports, design dashboards & analytics, and validate data
  • Provide internal consulting services to business to improve processes by proposing new solutions and driving adoption of new functionality 
  • Create and maintain process documentation, job guides, templates, and reference materials supporting the talent platform
  • Confers with management and employees regarding recruitment and selection, equal employment opportunity, classification, compensation, employee relations, or related activities, policies or procedures; advises County officials on interpreting human resources rules, practices and memoranda of understanding
  • Supervises and participates in conducting comprehensive job analysis, classification, compensation and benefits monitoring activities
  • Able to handle a variety of HR Duties relating to New Hires, Terminations, Leave Management, etc.
Skills & Requirements

Qualifications include:

  •  Bachelor's degree required
  •  2+ years of relevant HR experience
  • Deep analytical skills (finding the needle in a hay stack)
  • Sound knowledge of HR principles and leave processes
  • Experience using Ultimate Software a plus
  • Knowledge of human resource reporting and record keeping requirements
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as a part of the larger Human Resources department.
  •  Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to collaborate with team members as needed
  • Ability to travel
