Manager, Marketing Events

The Manager of Marketing Events will coach, provide direction and create development paths to foster an environment for the event team to consistently deliver their best work. The Manager of Marketing Events is responsible for overseeing strategic planning and execution of marketing events, defining process improvements, identifying new event opportunities, developing promotional plans, and ensuring seamless handoff of leads to sales. This individual is dedicated to ensuring all events are strategically planned, well executed and closely aligned department and company goals. The Manager of Marketing Events is a key member of the Demand Generation team, facilitating an event strategy that directly contributes to lead creation and pipeline generation. 



  • Coaches and leads direct reports, providing feedback and development paths 
  • Drives event roadmap and strategy in support of more than 200 events annually, including all-company meeting and customer user conference 
  • Develops, oversees and is accountable for full results of functional event plans 
  • Collaborates and works cross-functionally with department leaders to define event strategy in support of company and department goals 
  • Strategizes, develops and executes event calendar designed to support multiple verticals and personas and ensures project deadlines are met 
  • Identifies, outlines and oversees event execution across cross-functional teams, including deadlines, owners, and third party vendors 
  • Prepares RFPs, researches and secures venues, vendors, speakers and other resources needed to support successful execution of events
  • Collaborates with team to analyze event outcomes, assemble plans for improvements and further growth opportunities post-event
  • Ensures leads are collected, categorized and distributed to appropriate sales teams to ensure timely follow-up post-event
  • Works closely with marketing analyst to build, manage and maintain a reporting structure on ROI of event activity in relation to time and spend 
  • Tracks revenue and expenditures throughout planning stages, regularly updates budget and conducts post-event budget reconciliation; ensures event and financial objectives are achieved
  • Produces sales training materials and facilitates internal processes for event efficiency
  • Improves processes to achieve greater quality, consistency and profitability
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends, best practices and technologies; utilizes findings to implement improvements to event performance and execution 
  • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and purpose of the organization

Skills & Requirements


  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, English, Journalism or related major (Preferred). A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered
  • Experience working in a high tech, fast-paced, B2B environment (Preferred)
  • Minimum 5-7 years successful track record as an events manager with trade show and customer conference event experience (Required)
  • 5+ years of experience in a Marketing environment 
  • Experience with a CRM platform (Salesforce preferred)
  • Experience with a marketing automation platform (Marketo preferred)
  • Experience with an attendee web registration system (Cvent preferred) 
  • Experience supporting simultaneous multi-channel events 
  • Experience working with event logistics companies, such as Freeman and GES a plus
  • Working knowledge of Apple platform a plus
  • Excellent time and project management with exceptional attention to detail (Experience with a project management tool a plus)
  • Proven ability to work well with others and influence a team in a positive and constructive manner 
  • Preferred Certifications/Licensure: Certified event planner (a plus)
  • Highly self-motivated, results oriented and demonstrates strong organizational, project and time-management skills with a passion for execution
