UX Designer I

Trintech seeks an enthusiastic UX Designer to define and contribute to the UX and UI of our desktop and web applications. This designer will seek to understand users’ needs, motivations, and pain points, and align them with the goals of the business to deliver innovative, delightful, and high-impact user experiences that differentiate our products from others in our market space.

Our environment is fast-paced and exciting. We’re creating new solutions, enhancing our existing solutions and incorporating greater degrees of data and customer feedback into product development, while growing the business.

The UX Designer will gain a detailed working knowledge our software solutions and how users interact them. This designer will drive necessary studies, surveys, projects, etc. to improve the overall experience of the users. The UX Designer will also collaborate with Product Owners and Engineers to build customer-centric products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the UX vision and strategy for our desktop and web applications and services, working with product management, engineering, UX team members, and other stakeholders
  • Design innovative solutions to improve usability that enhances the quality of entire product
  • Make complex work processes feel intuitive and understandable for end users
  • Create design artifacts, both low- and high-fidelity, from concept to development handoff:
    • Storyboards
    • Wireframes
    • Mockups
    • HTML prototypes
    • Workflow models
    • User interface designs
    • Design interactions
  • Maintain and use style guides and pattern libraries to standardize UI and interactions
  • Design cohesive solutions between old and new technologies
  • Conduct user/customer research, studies, and interviews to learn about users and their needs, motivations, tasks, and workflows:
    • Proactively anticipate when user research is needed
    • Plan and organize studies and user testing
    • Facilitate sessions with users
    • Create mockups and prototypes for testing, then translate study findings into recommendations and design iterations
    • Report on results
  • Promote user-centered thinking to development teams and others outside of UX
  • Stay apprised of emerging technological trends, and understand their impact from a design perspective
  • Acquire and develop broad understanding of the customers’ needs, the company’s product(s), and the business goals and initiatives of the company/unit/department
  • Protect company proprietary and confidential information
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associates (plus 2 years of related professional experience) in HCI /Design/CompSci/Technology or related field of study
  • 0-3 years of related professional experience
  • Demonstrable UX design skills with a solid digital portfolio
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop required
  • Familiarity with paper prototyping, wireframing, and interactive prototyping tools (e.g. Axure, Sketch, Balsamiq, Invision)
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS/Bootstrap recommended
  • Understanding of responsive design
  • Familiarity with Lean UX and Agile processes desirable
  • Familiarity with product design and development desirable
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and visual communication skills
  • Willingness to collaborate in a team environment
