Senior Manager, HR Business Partnerships

The Senior Manager, HR Business Partnerships (P&E) is responsible for leading a high performing team of HR Business Partners and Generalists in partnership with the Product , Engineering, and Growth (P&E) organization of MINDBODY.  This role requires an effective influencer and knowledge about the P&E organization and business. The role will consult with P&E executives and the senior leadership team on matters related to global organizational effectiveness, including but not limited to organizational design & development, change management, performance management, employee engagement, workforce planning, and the effective implementation of HR programs and services. The ideal candidate will have HR Business Partner experience supporting Product and Engineering in a technology environment. 



  • 7+ years as People & Culture (HR) professional in multi-discipline environment; progressive complexity across different departments and working directly with senior leaders and executives
  • 3+ years’ experience managing a high-performing team of professional level P&C (HR) contributors; minimum of one year managing HR for Product, Technology & Engineering groups
  • Demonstrated project management and change management experience as well as experience driving programs independently
  • Minimum one-year experience partnering on HR issues with Product & Engineering teams
  • Demonstrated analytical and data management experience with experience translating data into action planning
  • Interpersonal and communication experience; experience building relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience; Master’s degree preferred
  • Human Resources certification preferred (such as PHR, SPRH, GPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
  • Proven success working in a fast-paced growing company; experience working at a technology company is preferred
  • Experience in leading direct reports in addressing change management, organization design and development, performance management, employee engagement and risk management
  • Must possess a comprehensive understanding of federal, multi-state and applicable international employment laws
  • Proven track record in developing and facilitating executive discussions and decision-making related to talent review and planning
  • Humble leader willing to learn and teach others
  • Can see alignment between decisions and impact to business; able to communicate the connection to team members
  • Intermediate skills with MS Office, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with web conferencing tools. Working knowledge of HR technologies such as HRIS, ATS, HCM, employee engagement tools, etc.



P&E Executive and Leadership Team partnership:


  • Consult with P&E executives and leadership team to understand business strategy and drivers; identify corresponding people capabilities required to achieve strategic and operational priorities; managing P&E Business Partner team to outcomes
  • Lead P&E Business Partner team to address organization design and development, performance management and change management initiatives
  • Collaborate with all areas of People & Culture team to influence the design and implementation of people initiatives and programs to meet P&E business needs
  • Partner with international P&C partners on global P&E initiatives
  • Use strong business and HR acumen to exchange conceptual ideas and information effectively with P&E leaders to meet operational and strategic objectives
  • Work with P&E executives to manage and facilitate organizational design, visioning, and team building that support change and scalable growth
  • Coach P&E executives and senior leaders to consciously evolve their leadership practices
  • Model thought leadership regarding MINDBODY organizational and people-related strategy and execution
  • Integrate and partner with People & Culture colleagues in the Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards and Global P&C teams to implement solutions for a scaling business
  • Cultivate partnerships across the organization to facilitate inter-departmental communication and efficiencies



    P&E Business Partner Team leadership:


  • Lead P&E Business Partner team, including hiring, training, coaching and developing team members
  • Collaboratively lead to set team and individual goals that align with P&E and MINDBODY strategy; communicate strategy and vision, action plans and behaviors to achieve goals
  • Proactively assess team development needs to align with business partnership functions and P&E needs; make recommendations and implement appropriate solutions
  • Plan, execute, and track P&E BP team initiatives and strategic projects ensuring consistency and alignment with company goals. Identify dependencies, risks; and present status updates to senior leadership
  • Provide appropriate coaching and feedback to Executives and team members
  • Oversee escalated employee relations issues; drive to resolution
  • Works with P&C HR Analyst to provide rigorous data analysis and reporting solutions based on business needs
  • Oversee or conduct internal investigations, working with Legal team as needed
  • Act and be seen as a subject matter expert in areas including but not limited to workforce strategies, performance management, coaching, change management and employee relations
