Learning and Development Trainer


MINDBODY | People & Culture | San Luis Obispo, CA

Manages the activities involved in the design, preparation, delivery and needs assessment of training and development programs. Assesses and implements organizational development programs, processes and training initiatives to support organizational strategies. Determines company needs for training. Develops and/or approves content, methods, and materials. Conducts learning activities; teaches classes; updates and maintains training attendance and assessment scores. Develops methods for evaluation of program effectiveness.



 The Trainer is primarily responsible for delivering training for team members in all offices using multiple methods such as instructor led training, virtual classroom training, and other performance support (user guides, job aids, etc.). This includes consulting with other departments to deliver effective content and presentations, as well as coaching and developing new team members. This position works in partnership with business stakeholders and other L&D team members under the direction of the Manager, Training Delivery.


Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related work experience
  • 2-4 years’ experience delivering training for multi-location call centers preferred
  • experience working within the software industry is preferred
  • Ability to develop thorough knowledge of MINDBODY software, company culture and core values
  • Must have an excellent work ethic, be a strong team player and consistently meet project deadlines
  • Possesses a positive and proactive attitude
  • Result-driven mentality and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills
  • Regular, reliable and punctual attendance
  • Must be willing to travel to other MINDBODY offices and attend off-site training programs for occasional professional development
  • The candidate must have practical experience with:
    • Troubleshooting basic common issues with computer and other technologies
    • General productivity software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Preferred candidate will possess:
    • Experience in teaching in the online or hybrid environment; experience in using Saba Meeting/Saba Virtual Classroom, Adobe Connect, or similar synchronous online applications
    • Experience with instructional technologies (e.g. Storyline, Camtasia, Captivate, etc.); graphic production technologies (e.g. Photoshop); audio/video development technologies



  • Conduct training for all MINDBODY team members
  • Delivers training via on-site classroom, telephone, web conferencing, and virtual classroom technologies
  • Ensures training venue is setup and prepared according to established team and company standards


  • Maintains training attendance and completion records
  • Regularly incorporates appropriate evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness of training programs (participant’s performance) to regularly improve training content/curriculum
  • Provide feedback for the development and revision of training programs and curriculum
  • Helps maintain course materials and teaching aids, such as handbooks, demonstration models, visual aids, tutorials, user guides, help files and other supporting materials
  • May serve as a coach or mentor to team members in a variety of roles; provides written and verbal feedback as needed. Provides performance feedback to their direct supervisor, as needed
  • Seeks feedback and measures results to ensure all training classes are providing a positive ROI Report on metrics to key stakeholders. Analyze reports and survey results to identify and make adjustments where necessary
  • Ensures consistent and repeatable training processes and programs in all offices
  • Creates and maintains on the job training and practice activities, such as demonstration calls; coordinates with supervisors and/or Workforce Manager to schedule activities


  • Participates in department specific training with the intent of driving structured and consistent training processes
  • Manages sensitive and/or confidential data appropriately
  • All other duties as assigned



  • Travel will be approximately 25% a year
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard
  • This position requires standing and speaking for long periods of time; primarily while teaching class and conducting remote learning
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on an intermittent basis; approximately 3 – 5 times a week.
  • This position will sit at a desk and use a computer, monitor and keyboard frequently throughout the day
  • This position will regularly listen in person, by phone and via webinars
  • Light walking around the building daily is required
  • Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time, comprehend, reason and analyze
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet



Individual Contributor: Duties are performed under limited supervision. Often responsible for planning and organizing their own work, which may or may not be directly related to general business operations of the company or its customers. Will receive training and guidance from manager as needed. Individual contributors may be required to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance depending on the nature of the position. No direct management responsibility.
