Senior Systems Administrator

The Senior Systems Administrator works as part of the Online Services team to assist in the management and automation of provisioning, installation, backup, and recovery of cloud server infrastructure used in delivering Jamf technologies, as well as to provide issue resolution as needed.  The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining operation of the environment in accordance with service level agreements and providing support to staff and, when necessary, to customers.



  • Maintain an inventory of servers and applications using configuration management good practices
  • Patch and secure Linux servers and any applications running on the servers
  • Ensure security best practices are identified and integrated into system designs and configuration
  • Maintain our production product release environment, including assisting in disaster recovery
  • Assist in evaluating, planning, configuration, and implementation of new software
  • Assist in design and implementation of automation workflows
  • Track and follow and, when required, escalate events in a timely manner to the appropriate individual according to documented procedures
  • Maintain technical documentation of processes and procedures
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Perform light programming/scripting duties in Python, PHP, Bash and/or Java.
  • Build a deep understanding of workflows that make a Jamf customer successful
  • Work and communicate effectively with Development, Feature Owners and Jamf stake holders.
  • Maintain an advanced level of knowledge of Jamf products
  • Identify techniques and tools that will enhance the capabilities of the team to be more effective.
  • Maintain an advanced level of knowledge of Jamf products
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Skills & Requirements

  • More than 5 years’ experience in a DevOps, Systems Administration, or similar role
  • More than 5 years’ experience command line knowledge
  • Experience with a Cloud Provider (ex. Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, etc.)
