Providing Mentorship with Friends of the Children

By pairing vulnerable children with long-term, full-time, paid professional mentors from kindergarten through high school graduation, Friends of the Children empowers children to break the cycles of generational poverty. At Vista, we believe increased opportunities for members of our communities can drive lasting change. Together, individuals and families of Vista Equity Partners have donated more than $650,000 to Friends of the Children to expand into Texas by opening its first chapter in Austin. The Austin chapter will focus on identifying children facing the highest risks living in the East Austin Crescent and concentrate on decreasing rates of substance abuse, incarceration, high school dropouts, and early parenting among participants.
