1. JOB IDENTIFICATION

JOB TITLE: Sr. Manager, Cloud Hosting Services

REPORTS TO
Sr. Director, Business Systems and Cloud Hosting Services

 

2. GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

 

The Sr. Manager, Cloud Hosting Services (CHS) will oversee the Cloud Hosting Services team in Bangalore, India, while having close cooperation with the partner CHS DevOps team in the North America. This person will be responsible for a transformation of the team to a world class Cloud operations function. This role is responsible for oversight of all aspect of Operations around Aptean’s SaaS business, including meeting SLA and Security requirements.

 

A successful candidate in this role will be a true leader for the team. This person will set goals and objectives for the department, and drive the team to achieve them. This technical expert will work with the business to understand hosting needs for Aptean’s clients. The team will deliver value by:

  • Managing and maintaining Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments and relevant co-location facilities

     

  • Work with customers and internal teams to ensure the highest system uptime and availability

     

  • Interface with customers to respond to and manage their expectations and escalations

     

  • Provide technical mentoring and guidance to staff

     

  • Work with the business/product lines to drive SaaS revenue for both existing and emerging markets

     

  • Prioritize projects and assignments, and maintain high levels of employee retention.

 

 

3. SCOPE

Scope: Establish operational objectives and work plans, and delegate assignments to subordinates. Stay in close contact with senior management to demonstrate success of the operation. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have a company-wide effect. Develop and drive strategies to improve the service and efficiency of the Bangalore operations team, as well as partner on strategies to benefit the larger CHS department.

Complexity: Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, and work plans, and performance requirements.

Supervision: Manages activities of the Operations team in Bangalore, and influence or matrix manage the activities of the North America DevOps team in coordination with the leader of that department. Exercise supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. In some instances, may have subordinate team leads.

Interaction: Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, while maintaining relationships throughout the business.
