Project Manager, Support


PowerSchool | Support

The Project Manager provides leadership for the implementation and deployment of PowerSchool Technical Support initiatives. This role has overall responsibility for delivering and supporting the implementation of multiple projects of varying scope and size. This is a critical position within the global support organization and requires cross collaboration across multiple internal teams, tools vendors and external stakeholders to get alignment and roll out high quality deliverables in a timely fashion.

  • Engages internal stakeholders (typically Product Management, Engineering, Support delivery teams, IT, Sales, Services) and external vendors, partners and customers to understand requirements, create project plans and manage projects to completion in a timely fashion and with quality deliverables.
  • Provides weekly updates to Support leadership on all open projects and calling out key risks and mitigation plans for each.
  • Responds to all project feedback in a timely fashion and seeks to resolve conflicts by balancing stakeholder needs with company objectives.
  • Creates and maintains all project documentation including accurate records of individual project deliverables/work products, status and issues including lessons learned after completion.
  • Create and update Executive-level PowerPoints to be used in company-wide presentations
  • Applies industry standard project management (PMBOK) methodology to all projects, including setting expectations, managing to scope, to track progress, manage risk and coordinate resources.
  • Assists in development and management of processes and procedures associated with project deliverables.
  • Creates and delivers effective presentations, presenting to various levels of management.
  • Develops project schedules including project training, testing, conversion of data and software installation.
  • Provides direction for and coordinates efforts of all cross-functional project team members.
  • Understands and supports internal and partner vendor implementations, involving support tools.
  • Acts as liaison on Customer Support team’s behalf to internal business units
  • Professionally communicates with stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
  • Drives and facilitates decision-making and consensus with stakeholders during weekly project calls.
  • Communicates project status to key project stakeholders and sponsors.
  • All other responsibilities assigned by management
Skills & Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • Education and/or Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred 
      o Work experience in K-12 Education large-scale, district technology implementations a plus
      o Minimum of 2-4 years of project management or project coordinator experience required
      • Specialized Knowledge or Certifications
      o PMP, CAPM, and/or CSM certification a plus, but not required
      o MS Project or SmartSheets working knowledge
      o Moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and use of working with data sets, reports, charts, and budget information.
      o Salesforce or other CRM knowledge
