Windows System Administrator


Lone Wolf Real Estate Technologies | Information Technology | Dallas, TX

This is a great opportunity to get a foot in the door of a rapidly changing technology organization as it moves to cloud based technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Office 365.  Be a part of shaping the organization as it grows and matures.  Bring your strong system administrator experience and we will provide training and hands on experience in the latest cloud technologies.  Work closely with our Engineering group, learn DevOps and continued integration techniques, and help to shape the way we build and deploy software. 

The primary duties of the Windows System Administrator are managing performance and tuning Windows Terminal Server/Remote Desktop Services to ensure high levels of availability and security for the supported business. This position will participate in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure Windows Services are consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements; participates in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for Lone Wolf’s infrastructure. 

Skills & Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Manage large Terminal Server/Remote Desktop Services farms in a VMWare environment

·         Manage access controls through users and groups in Active Directory

·         Interact directly with external customers to coordinate setup of services

·         Perform proactive capacity planning, including short- and long-term trend analysis

·         Provide primary system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of the Windows servers environment and performance issues.

·         Identify and automate routine tasks to improve performance and efficiency.

·         Analyze user requirements and statistics to identify trends and resolve performance issues.

·         Follow ITIL standards with regards to Incident, Change and Problem management

·         Plan, install, build, manage, support, configure, and test server infrastructure components and connectivity.

·         Demonstrate the ability to manage competing priorities, take a proactive approach to improving services, and have an innovative and keen interest in learning new technologies.

·         Availability to provide 24x7x365 support while operating in a rotational, on-call status


Required Education and Certifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT) field or equivalent military or professional work experience


Required Skills and Experience:    

·         Availability to provide 24x7x365 support while operating in a rotational, on-call status

·         A keen sense of urgency to facilitate prompt incident identification and resolution

·         Ability to work independently or with a team to analyze and solve complex technical problems through research, diagnosis, identification of the best course of action, presentation of technical roadmap to key stakeholders, testing, and validation

·         Incredible verbal and written communication skills required to gather, synthesize, and analyze highly technical information from subject matter experts (SMEs) and to provide clear and concise status updates to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders

·         Experience supporting SQL Server environments for mission-critical, production applications

·         Must be able to travel Internationally

·         Travel requirement 10-15%


Desired Skills, Experience, and Certifications:

·         AWS and or Azure experience

·         Proven ability to write PowerShell scripts

·         Windows Server 2012/2016 certification

·         Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including UNIX, Linux, VMWare ESX, Oracle, and network equipment and operations

·         Windows scripting and automated software deployment experience

·         Experience with Citrix XenDesktop, VMware vSphere (ESXi), vCenter technologies, and virtualization

·         Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certificate with experience supporting service-oriented operational projects
