Media Buyer

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies and campaigns
  • Assist in establishing repeatable/solid benchmarks for planning/buying process
  • Identify target audience and evaluate their characteristics, behavior and media habits
  • Present proposals including cost schedules, media weight goals and flighting to the internal and external team
  • Establish & strengthen vendor partnerships across all media outlets
  • Maintain detailed records across research, negotiation, implementation and performance of all media schedules
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns in order to inform future campaigns
  • Work with clients and vendors prior to, during, and after execution
Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 2 -3  years of experience putting together local cross-media strategies supported by rationale and research
  • 2 years minimum experience in local broadcast investment
  • Experience managing substantial budgets and financials
  • Experience planning, negotiating and buying multiple media channels with emphasis on audio/video/OOH
  • Data driven negotiation skills 
  • Client facing experience
  • Professional written/verbal communication/critical thinking skills
  • Solid understanding of media math, metrics, industry trends/benchmarks     
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • A drive, passion and innate curiosity of the advertising business
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to multi-task several projects simultaneously
  • Team player but also independent know-how
  • Proficient in OX/Spectra or relevant media buying software
  • Knowledge of Nielsen, Kantar, and SRDS research tools
  • Familiarity of Google Analytics
  • Recognizing opportunities for upsell
  • Desire to increase media knowledge across multiple channels
