Ashley Butler is Vice President, Head of Private Wealth Compliance & Senior Counsel at Vista Equity Partners, where she leads compliance, regulatory, and governance matters for the Firm’s private wealth platform, including for its evergreen U.S. and Luxembourg structures. Her work spans legal and regulatory drafting of fund documentation and filings, distribution agreement negotiation across major broker-dealer and wealth management platforms, investor communications and disclosure strategy, and board governance for both U.S. and Luxembourg structures. She is also responsible for managing sustainability matters from a legal and compliance perspective related to investor reporting, fund documentation and regulatory filings.

Prior to joining Vista in 2020, she was an Associate at Ropes & Gray, advising investment advisers on fund formation and structuring, fund operations, and legal and regulatory matters for private funds. She started her career as an Investment Management Associate at Schulte Roth & Zabel, representing investment advisers on fund structuring, formation, and ongoing operational, regulatory, and compliance matters.

Ashley is a member of the New York and California bars.
