Azure Cloud Engineer

What you will be doing

The Azure Cloud Engineer will champion the Cloud Management Platform, live and breathe Infrastructure Automation, support Hybrid Cloud Solutions, and demonstrate the benefits of  Cloud-as-a-Service variants, such as; PaaS, IaaS and SaaS.

The Cloud Engineer will build the next generation of Cloud infrastructure, supporting end-to-end delivery of public cloud hosted systems that:

·       Are created and evolved using automated "infrastructure as code" tooling

·       Seamlessly interoperates with continuous integration/continuous deployment processes

·       Enables migration of traditional infrastructure into public cloud

The role provides opportunities to advance technically (i.e. towards an Architect position) and in exposure to client facing consultancy positions.

Responsibilities include:

·       Provision and administer Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service environments using best practices for enterprise customers, primarily in Azure (with opportunities to work with AWS) 

·       Work with an architect to design, deploy, maintain and lead the implementation of Cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and underlying technologies 

·       Design and deliver secure cloud solutions on Azure 

·       Deep Windows Server expertise and some Linux knowledge 

·       Azure ARM deployments / Automation / Azure CLI / PowerShell / DSC / Bash 

·       Active Directory, Azure AD Domain Services and Azure AD 

·       Strong background in Microsoft based applications 

·       Work with version control systems (such as Git) to maintain a complete record of changes to environments 

·       Maintain account documentation, such as architecture diagrams and portal links 

·       Train and mentor Junior Administrators and Engineers 

What you will be good at

·       Experience of designing and delivering secure cloud solutions on Azure with extensive knowledge about various cloud services 

·       Experience in designing deployment strategies for cloud/virtualization and implementation best practices 

·       Experience of designing solutions using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS 

·       Strong automation skills, such as; working with Azure Resource Manager, PowerShell/CLI scripting and (ideally) familiarity with working with RESTFul APIs 

·       Experience working with tools such as; Terraform, Ansible, Chef or Puppet 

·       Strong working knowledge of setting up monitoring across Azure resources and processes around responding to alerts raised by the monitoring solution 

·       Experience in agile development 

·       Strong analytical and communication skills 

What we would like to have

·       Firewalls, Office 365, Exchange, Domain Controllers, Virtualization VMWare 

·       Azure Cloud Architect certification 

·       Prior Experience in moving from on premises to Azure

·       Experience in architecting and designing new systems

·       Azure SQL and Azure SQL Data warehouse an Architectural perspective as well as from an implementation perspective

·       Familiarity with Azure PaaS services such as Service Bus, Cosmos DB, AKS and Azure Functions 

·       Understanding of container solutions such as Docker

·       Understands Performance aspects of Azure storage platforms

·       Good understanding of Azure architectural patterns

·       Hands on experience in migration and export of large data sets from on premise and cloud based platforms into/from Azure
