JOB FAMILY SUMMARY:

Software Engineers work in the MINDBODY software development life cycle, including specification, design, and implementation and testing of new features and bug fixing. Software Engineers are responsible for their own code and bugs.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Software Engineer II – Mobile designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs mobile applications for our core product. This includes developing software components including Networking, Frameworks, Views, Utilities, and Automation tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design when applicable.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops high-quality code for features and bugs tasked by senior software engineers
  • Regularly collaborates with other developers to evaluate work for technical feasibility
  • Brainstorms with Product Managers and designers to conceptualize and estimate new features
  • Collaborates with backend engineers to efficiently build out new API for mobile apps
  • Reviews new feature impact on an application and recognize potential risks
  • Creates technical documentation for new features that can be easily understood by peers
  • Writes and executes tests for your own code, including creating comprehensive unit tests
  • Adheres to internal best practices and coding convention
  • All other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 1+ years of industry experience in programming web applications, mobile and/or large-scale enterprise products
  • Mobile Development Experience: Swift, Objective-C, Xcode or Java and Android Studio
  • Expertise in building complex layouts
  • Strong UI and design skills
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Familiar with SDLC and programming design patterns
  • Familiar with Agile methodology is a plus
  • Sense of ownership
  • Passion for troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Detailed oriented, professional and possesses a positive work attitude
  • Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing

SCOPE OF SUPERVISION/AUTHORITY:

Duties are performed under limited supervision. Often responsible for planning and organizing their own work, which may or may not be directly related to general business operations of the company or its customers. Will receive training and guidance from manager as needed. Individual contributors may be required to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance depending on the nature of the position. No direct management responsibility.


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
  • This position is mostly stationary and will be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.

 

Skills & Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:  

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 
    • 5+ years of industry experience in programming web applications, mobile and/or large scale enterprise products 
    • Deep knowledge of C#, ASP, .NET, MVC 
    • Experience with XML, ADO/ADO.NET, LINQ, AJAX, IIS 
    • Extended experience with SQL and relational databases 
    • Experience in TFS and Visual Studio 
    • Familiar with SDLC and programming design patterns 
    • Familiar with Agile methodology 
    • Skillful at reviewing new feature impact on an application and recognizing potential risks 
    • Uses time effectively and efficiently 
    • Quickly learns new technologies 
    • Detailed oriented, professional and possesses a positive work attitude 
    • Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
