Finding a Firm That Values Relationships

There are several things that drew me to Vista.

One was the people. When I went to Austin to meet the team, instead of just handshaking — which was the business environment I was used to — everyone was hugging to greet one other. It felt like a family.

Then through my interviews, I could tell Vista would be a great place to flex different muscles by digging in deep with companies, understanding what’s driving them and working with them to grow.

The last thing that attracted me to the firm was the endless learning opportunities. At Vista, you’re trusted very early on to work directly with companies, consider potential investments and help craft an investment thesis.

Making an Impact

As a member of our Foundation Fund team, my day-to-day involves partnering with middle-market companies that are focused on enterprise software. We help them grow both organically and inorganically.

I’m particularly motivated by Vista’s investment in mission-critical businesses that are solving global challenges. One example is Power Factors, which is in the renewables space. They’re improving the environment by helping solar and wind energy companies drive better asset performance.

When you think about the impact you’re driving, it’s more than just a return on investment. It’s about actually making people’s lives better. That’s what I like — that there’s a mission behind the work we’re doing.
